For a Professional Camcorder That Is Reasonably Priced, The Canon GL2 Is Hard to Beat
Tuesday, September 4th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedBecause the Canon GL2 is a professional camcorder that has numerous features it may be challenging for new users to really get the hang of it very quickly. Because Canon has always had its primary design philosophy deep in photography that is traditional it may not be any great shock to most people that this particular professional camcorder has an optimum optical subsystem.
It has the capability to adjust light levels and focus automatically and this unique professional camcorder has three CCD image sensor’s that is in addition to its 20X optical zoom and the extremely capable 100X digital zoom lenses that can adequately handle dim light settings, with a few rare exceptions such as extreme telephotos.
The Cannon GL2 also has a somewhat less than impressive stereo audio subsystem and when applied in automatic mode was unable to output any great ambient sounds. This could be a negative to the otherwise positive aspects of this great professional camcorder. It also has a normal movie mode and in addition has the GL2’s frame movie that is able to capture as many as 30 frames per second; not unlike the motor drives on 35mm cameras. Once the photographs have been recorded on the professional camcorder they can be downloaded to a PC or to a TV as well as to a VCR and the Cannon GL2 is no exception.
The all-embracing menu options, coupled with hardware buttons plus the well designed remote control enables this professional camcorder (Cannon GL2) to give its owner much more operational ability than they may be able to handle at any given time. This may pose a bit of a challenge when used in real world situations and this may be another negative, given that users may want to perform these functions under time constraints. They may work well when there is no dearth of time but because some buttons are not easily locatable this is a bit of a hindrance.
Putting these small negatives aside, the is a high quality professional camcorder that isn’t going anywhere soon and is at the forefront of professional camcorders and will easily outperform other competing models in the same category.
For the cost it gives professional grade quality along with outstanding power that is very enjoyable to handle it also has the exceptional capability to move your photographic images to basically any format, limited only by the owners desires and needs and because of its quality the chance are less that it will need and camcorder repair.
